If your scan shows a result titled Internal Database, this means that part of your document matches content stored within Viper's secure internal data hub.
This usually happens when a document you previously scanned was stored in the internal database and your new scan finds a similarity with that earlier version. The system identifies this as a match between your current upload and a document previously submitted to our database.
Only the identical sections of text are displayed in your report. Any private or unrelated content from the original document will be hidden and replaced with symbols (for example, ###) to protect the privacy of the user who originally uploaded it.
All stored documents are fully anonymised. No personal details or identifying information are ever shared.

If you prefer not to store your documents in the internal database, you can simply choose not to scan against the internal database in your scan settings. If you've already used this option and would like your previous work removed, please email support@scanmyessay.com and we'll permanently delete all of your stored content free of charge.
