The Similarity Score and the AI detection percentage are two separate measurements, and one does not affect the other.
- Similarity Score - shows the percentage of your text that matches existing sources such as web pages, academic journals, and other documents scanned within the system. It reflects how much of your work may overlap with material already published elsewhere.
- AI detection percentage - indicates how much of your document is likely to have been generated or heavily assisted by an AI writing tool. It focuses on identifying writing patterns that differ from natural human language.
Both results appear together in your reports under My Scans, giving you a complete overview of originality - one measuring similarity to existing sources, and the other assessing the likelihood of AI-generated content.
These two metrics operate independently, allowing you to see both how original your writing is and whether it may include AI-generated sections.
