If your document shows a 100% match when you scan it a second time, it's likely because you selected the internal database option during your first scan.

When this option is enabled, your work is securely stored in our internal database. This allows future scans from any user (including yourself) to be compared against that stored version. As a result, if you re-scan the same file, the system will detect your original upload as a perfect match, showing a similarity score of 100%.

The internal database is a large collection of user-submitted documents used to improve the accuracy of future plagiarism scans. No personal data is ever visible to anyone else.

If you'd like your previous submissions permanently deleted from the internal database, simply email our support team at support@scanmyessay.com. We'll remove all of your stored content at no charge.

To avoid this happening in future, just make sure you don't select the internal database option when uploading your document.
