Will my scan be shared with Turnitin?

No! When you scan your document with us, we hold it in a private database which Turnitin does not have access to, so they are unable to scan your work again. You don’t have to worry about accidental self-plagiarism. The only people who have access to our database are our engineers, and we do not share data with any plagiarism checkers.

Please note if you scanned your work for free, 3 months after your scan we automatically add your essay to our database, where it will be published on one of our external student sites. This is to help other students see examples of how to write an essay. You can read more about this here.

If you scan your work using our premium service, this will never happen. You are in control of your documents and can choose when/if to delete your work.
